Bindu Shah is the Vice President of Digital Marketing & Media at Sephora, the world’s leading and fastest-growing prestige beauty retailer and a pioneer in digital commerce. She leads a team that regularly inspires and grows client engagement and conversion, driving new and repeat clients to Sephora across all relevant online and offline touchpoints. In her role, Bindu oversees all marketing channels and budget for Sephora’s content and media distribution, including search, display, social and video advertising, affiliate, email, mobile messaging, community, partnerships, and offline media.
Since Bindu joined Sephora in December 2014, Digital Marketing’s contribution to the e-commerce business has grown substantially. Bindu has played a key role in driving that growth by championing major initiatives including expanding Sephora’s acquisition, personalization, video content, and mobile marketing strategies. As a result of her team’s client-centric focus, unwavering innovation, and digital marketing channel leadership, Sephora has consistently been recognized as “Genius” by L2.
Before moving to San Francisco to join Sephora, Bindu spent four years at Gilt.com, where she held a variety of marketing leadership roles across branding, integrated marketing, innovation, strategic planning, and analytics. Prior to Gilt, Bindu served as Director of eCommerce Product Management for McGraw Hill’s Digital Higher Education division; and, previously, she worked for Morgan Stanley as an Investment Banking analyst in the retail sector.
Bindu holds a BA in Mathematics and Economics from Barnard College, Columbia University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She is a passionate advocate for public education reform, as well as a mentor to young female entrepreneurs.
