Jeff Maisel is the owner of the Gebr. Maisel brewery founded in 1887. He is the fourth generation of Maisels to run the family company. A wealth of knowledge, plenty of creative ideas and a lot of heart and soul – that’s what has shaped this brewery for decades, and what makes it so successful to this day. Maisel currently offers over 20 different kinds of beer. Brauerei Gebr. Maisel is most famous in Germany and abroad for its Bavarian wheat beer specialties – Maisel’s Weisse Original, Light, Dunkel (dark), Kristall (filtered), non-alcoholic and Bayreuther Bio-Weisse (organic) – but it is also the market leader in the low-carb beer segment with its Edelhopfen EXTRA Pils. Jeff Maisel has been a pioneer in the fast-growing craft beer scene in Germany since 1999, when Aktien Zwick´l Kellerbier was launched and he was one of the first German brewers to found an own craft beer brand named Maisel & Friends.
In the spring of 2016 the brewery’s innovative CEO fulfilled one of his longest-held dreams. The “Maisel’s Bier-Erlebnis-Welt” opened in the brewery’s oldest building – a fascinating beer experience found nowhere else in Germany. The 4,500 sqm historic main building is home to Maisel’s Brauereimuseum (brewery museum) – which earned a spot in the Guinness Book of Records for being the most diverse beer museum in the world – the “Maisel & Friends Brauwerkstatt” creative brewery and the new “Liebesbier” restaurant, which features 21 different beers on tap and over 100 bottled beers.
