MOKA is the regional conference for Ellucian clients in the states of Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas and Arkansas (MOKA). The annual conference changes location among institutions in the four-state region. Originally founded in 2005 as Banner User’s Group Conference (BUGC) and hosted by Washburn University, MOKA BUG (Banner User’s Group) was first held in 2009 at Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. The conference remained at this location through 2011. There was no conference in 2012. The 2013 and 2014 conference was held in Emporia, Kansas on the campus of Emporia State University. The 2015 and 2016 conferences were held at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK. Oral Roberts University is honored to be hosting the conference again in 2018
Between 200 and 250 higher education faculty, administrators, staff and IT professionals from the four states region attend the MOKA conference. MOKA is intended to provide opportunities for attendees to: network with their colleagues; share experiences using Ellucian ERP products; learn how to incorporate offerings from other vendors to enhance the collegiate experience; and exchange ideas on a wide range of relevant topics. Beginning in 2013, for the first time in this region, colleges and universities using the Ellucian Colleague ERP are invited to join those institutions running the Banner ERP in a joint regional conference.
